Amethyst in Gold Nose Stud
This nose stud, or any of my amethyst nose studs, really ... can't help but make me sometimes think of the beginning of a famous poem that reads, "When I am old, I shall wear purple".
The poem is about defying convention, and I think that's why most of us got our noses pierced in the first place. We wanted to stand out, and to express our uniqueness.
I think this nose stud does that. I work hard to make sure that it does.
Have it created in your choice of a gold filled setting and stem or a solid gold setting and stem.
• genuine purple amethyst
• 14 karat solid yellow gold, or
• 14 karat yellow gold fill
• all nickel free
What is a gold filled nose stud?
• A solid layer of gold
• Durable – doesn’t flake or turn color
• Tarnish resistant just like gold
• Nickel free
How To Choose Your Nose Jewelry Gauge and End Style
What is the nose jewelry gauge?
Gauge is the thickness of the part that goes through your piercing
20G is about the thickness of a regular earring post
18G is thicker than 20G
22G is thinner than 18G and 20G
24G is thinner yet
If you’re not sure, your own piercer, or a local piercer should be able to tell you your gauge
What are the different nose stud ends?
Screw ends point toward septum (see photos)
Screw end for left is your left nostril
Screw end for right is your right nostril
Bone ends are not threaded - they are a solid ball
Shaft lengths are 6.5mm
L ends are a straight shaft of 6.5’’ with a 5mm ‘tail’
Fishtail is a straight shaft of 17mm
If you have specialized requests for either gauge or end styles – for example 16G nose studs, or longer or shorter shaft lengths for nose studs, please contact me to discuss possible options.
